Hoy, hablo un poquito espanol.
I love Bill Maher and the fact that he has no shame in dating porn stars, strippers, and/or video hoes. Damn you ABC for taking him off my TV (waaay too poor for HBO)!
So the job is still going great. Only one odd thing....on of the parents hit on me tonight. It was kinda gross. He basically tried to ask me on a date to see Spiderm@n, but it was very middle school-ish:
"Have you been to the movies lately."
"I'd really like to see that Spiderm@n. The previews look really good. Have you seen it."
"If you go this weekend, can you call me so that I can meet up with you?"
Ah, no, no, NO!! Like what the hell. Before that, it was something like, "Have you always been that pretty?" I mean eeeeew. Shit like this always happen to me. Not necessarily parents, but just older (waaaay older) men. And what's worse is that they usually think I'm younger, like 15-17. Fucking pedophiles.
Two weeks ago, I'd signed up for Conversational spanish classes at the local community college. Those bastards cancelled the class 3 days prior to the start. And they still haven't refunded my money yet. And what pisses me off is that I finally had the time and money to take the class and the cancel it with no warning.
So now, I'm meeting with my next door neighbors a couple nights a week to practice. For 30 minutes to an hour they speak to me solamente in espanol and I have to answer back the same. No english is allowed.
It's good practice for me because I can read and write it fluently, and when someone talks to me, I understand it pretty well. But, I can't speak it well at all. It's like I get stage fright and all the spanish vocab I know flies out of my brain. I need to practice getting used to translating it quickly. And I'm glad I get to do it for free. Well, that is if that fricking college sends my refund.
Nothing else is going on with me, except for a stupid head cold that I can't get rid of and forest fires because we're in our dry season right now. Total excitement!
